Grecian Vase in Cerulean and Sundrop
A vase in cerulean blue with glossy sundrop shapes that really contrast with the satin surface. The squat shape allows the strong handles to draw attention to the opening of this vessel.
A wheel thrown form that is trimmed once leather hard. The handles are extruded and attached to the form while quite wet, added one-by-one until the proportions are in harmony. The glazed shapes are created using a wax etching technique, having the look of inlay and feel as if the color is intrinsic in the form.
Dimensions: 5 3/4” tall x 10” wide (at the handles) x 7” diameter vase form
