Satin Black Signal Vase
A satin black vase with baby blue and glossy sundrop shapes. Glazed in three stages, the multiple colors add a depth to the surface, the interior is glazed in satin black. Tall and proud, this vase is not a wallflower.
Wheel thrown and assembled from two sections to achieve height and then trimmed. The handles are extruded into coils, sculpted and assembled while quite wet to retain their shape and not crack. The glazed shapes are created using a wax etching technique, where the colors all sit on the same plane, having the look of inlay and feel as if the color is intrinsic in the form.
Dimensions: 12 1/4” tall x 11 1/4” wide (at the handles) x 5” diameter vase form
